FL A S H E S FROM TH E FI E L D INTERNATIONAL Messe Dusseldorf and Starling Expo will launch a new trade show in Africa this Fall for the food packaging industry tied to its interpak brand. Food Processing & Packaging Expo will debut Nov.26-28 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi. The project is the first show in Africa tied to the triennial interpak, which is held in Germany, and will include educational content on establishing business relationships in Africa. The group met with members of the Philadelphia team to discuss convention center functions including sales, event operations, housekeeping and technology. Zambia hosts the United Nations World Tourism Organization's Annual Conference in August. EVENT CORNER Surf Expo Co-Locates GLM will co-locate an e-commerce conference with its Surf Expo this Fall. Te attempt to allow a third design frm into the group of fnalists failed although the commission did agree to require afdavits from all fve bidders stating they had no improper contact with the city's former procurement director, who was indicted on charges not related to the convention center. Miami Beach was to begin a series of public meetings on the project in late January.
