LOOKING AHEAD What Major Trade Shows are on Tap for May? The National Hardware Show MAY 1-3 Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV 19 on the Trade Show Executive (TSE) Gold 100 Reed Exhibitions saw increases of a little more than 1% in its attendance, exhibi- tors and exhibit space last year, but was getting some encouraging interest from major exhibitors this time around. Sonya Ruff Jarvis, vice president of attendee pro- grams for the show, said attendees wanted to see more big names in the exhibit hall, and Reed obliged with an aggressive mar- keting push that increased the number of majors signing up for booth space by 30% over 2011. "We worked very hard with the industry's leading manufacturers and we are very pleased to report that this year's show will feature even more companies representing the biggest brands across the complete range of categories." Te 2011 National Hardware Show grew 1.7% to 544,000 net square feet (nsf) thanks to a significant number of new ex- hibitors. More than 500 exhibitors from 30 countries will be taking part in the International Sourcing Pavilion, and Lan- caster, a major paint distributor, will hold its West coast buyers' meeting at the show.
