Center, New Orleans, LA Exhibit space was virtually sold out by the end of February and CTIA – Te Wireless Association anticipated more than 40,000 attendees from the booming wireless industry would make it to New Orleans. CTIA booked additional space at the Morial Convention Center earlier in the year to handle the demand. More than 150 first-time exhibitors will participate in the show along with industry titans. Te show is expected to span just over 300,000 net square feet of exhibit space. "Te show's expansion is a reflection of the significant impact of wireless touch- ing every aspect of our daily lives," said Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director. A new feature on the show floor is Solutions Showcase, a 16,000 square foot section dedicated to a comprehensive look at the many different industry sec- tors where new wireless products are be- ing adopted. Solutions Showcase is different from the Emerging Technology Showcase, another new feature of the exhibit floor where more than 100 newly released gad- gets and devices will be on display. AMC, Inc. said its space at the Las Vegas Convention Center was 99% sold out by the end of 2011 with 475 exhibitors contracted. Te bright lights of Vegas alone might be enough to capture the attention of lighting aficionados, but AMC is banking on an expanded conference program and new features on the exhibit floor to boost attendance. A fiſth pavilion has been added specifically for new exhibitors. Other pavilions are focused on decorative lighting and products for energy-efficient buildings. Two pre-conference institutes provide an incentive for attendees to fly in a day early.
