Te ASIS component is the largest and draws from a horizontal group of security professionals, and ISC12 is designed specifically for IT security professionals. Te two fields are increasingly inter- twined, and attendees will be free to take advantage of the exhibits and educational content of both events. Te education tracks have been increased from five to nine this year with more than 200 ses- sions. Organizers are predicting about 230,000 nsf of exhibit space and 20,000 attendees, many drawn from the Wash- ington, DC area and the rest of the East Coast, which is heavy with security firms. Nielsen Exhibitions is mov- ing the show up Te Strip to Mandalay Bay next year, and the event will still include the popular pre-show OutDoor Demo in nearby Boulder City. Te move is being made basically to accommodate growth of the show for the bicycle industry. "We are looking forward to re-inventing the show by adding more events and more riding opportunities with the expansive outdoor areas at Mandalay Bay," said Pat Hus, manag- ing director of the show. Interbike Interbike will be making the most of its final run at the Sands. Nielsen reported a number of exhibitors that had skipped the show in recent years were coming back in 2012. Another dozen major exhibitors have increased the size of their booths from 2011. Tat's good news since 2011 was flat in terms of attendance and exhibit space (297,800 nsf) compared to 2010. New exhibitors will be centered on a new floor feature called LAB, which will host a regular schedule of special events, such as a display area for custom bike builders, fashion shows. LAB will also be the site of the show's educational presentations and seminars. Hall-Erickson said it sold out its ap- proximately 850,000 nsf of indoor space and most of its outdoor space by the start of Summer and were calling 2012 the largest MINExpo in the show's history. Tis is a major heavy-equipment show covering the gamut of coal and mineral MINExpo Intl. extraction. Due to the long intervals between shows, there will be plenty of new products being unveiled by the 1,600 exhibitors. Tere is also a strong interna- tional presence. Germany, for example, is bringing in a pavilion of 17 companies. Te education calendar has a relatively modest 20 sessions spread across three days, but networking opportunities will be plentiful.
