– ADVERTORIAL – Trade Show Executive Green Going GUIDEBOOK HOLDING A SUC- CESSFUL "GREEN" TRADE SHOW depends a lot on the level of sustainability of- fered by the host convention center. Trade Show Executive is spotlighting the green programs and facilities offered by three leading U.S. convention centers. Te efforts of the venues in Orlando, In- dianapolis and Milwaukee will give show organizers a comprehensive idea about what these facilities are doing to advance the state of the art in green events. Te idea of green meetings is moving into a new and exciting phase. Te Convention Industry Council (CIC) this year issued its first Sustainable Standards — Best Practices to guide organizers as they plan for the greenest shows possible. Te CIC is just one source of ideas and best practices for show organizers and convention center managers. Te inspiration comes from other industry organizations and from individual management teams at convention centers and show organizers. Staying in the forefront of sustainability is an ongoing mission for show organizers and venue staff, but it pays off in energy savings for convention centers and in creating a more positive image for the shows they host. Going Green will give everyone an idea of where sustainability is headed in the coming years. 62 July 2012 | Trade Show Executive
