LOOKING AHEAD What Major Trade Shows are on Tap for October? High Point Fall Market OCTOBER 13-18 High Point Market, High Point, NC Te semi-annual mix of temporary and permanent exhibit space gives High Point Market plenty of room for the latest in home furnishings. Te Fall show runs five days and has 11.5 million gross square feet of exhibit space in a truly citywide event. About 2,000 exhibitors will be registered and attendance is projected at 80,000. Te show's temporary space has been growing as the economy chugs along. Te High Point Market Authority said the Made in America pavilion and Juried Salon area had both been expanded to 32,000 net square feet (nsf). Te buzz for exhibitors and attendees both has been ramped up through Style Spotters, an exciting social media program that deploys nine individuals known for their design expertise. Tey will file dis- patches and photos from the show floor on Pinterest that reflect products and developing trends that caught their eye. Style Spotters is a nice bonus for exhibi- tors that are spotlighted, and it polishes the reputation of High Point Market as a key event in the furnishings and design industries. "Our entire social media strat- egy is in place to increase brand aware- ness, build a community within the home furnishings world, and provide customer service," said Cheminne Taylor-Smith, vice president of marketing for the High Point Market Authority.
