New Addition to TSE Economic Forecasting Board
Dennis Slater, president and secretary of the Association of Equipment Managers (AEM) joined the Trade Show Execu- tive (TSE) Economic Forecasting Board. Slater will add to the board's expertise in the exhibition industry and con-
tribute to the monthly Trending & Spending column. "Dennis brings a wealth of experience and another
important point of view to the forecasting board," said Darlene Gudea, president, Trade Show Executive Media Group. "Te trade show industry will benefit from his experience both as an association executive and orga- nizer of the leading trade shows in the key construction sector." Slater was named president and secretary of AEM in 1998. He oversees an eight-show portfolio that includes the triennial CONEXPO-CON/AGG and the biennial ICUEE – Te Demo Expo. He was chairman of the International Association

Te Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) and Shomex Inc. have reached an agreement on a contract extension for SISO Executive Director LEW SHOMER. Te extension runs beyond 2013. Shomer, the president and CEO of Shomex Productions, was selected to manage SISO in 2009 and has since guided SISO to an all-time high membership level and a 70% increase in the asset value of the organization's reserves. ALOYSIUS ARLANDO, CEO of Singex Group, was named to the International Association of Congress Centres (AIPC) board of di- rectors. Arlando is the first executive from an Asian convention center elected to the AIPC board.
