Te number of exhibi- tors fell (7.4)% to 349 this year, but in a unique twist, the exhibit space increased a heſty 20.0% to 88,700 nsf. Attendance in Las Vegas was 3.0% higher than it was last year in Boston. y SAFETY – Te American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Professional Development Conference & Exposition. Te ASSE report- ed 81,000 nsf and 475 exhibitors, both records for the show. Attendance was the second-largest in show history. Te met- rics grew 7.3% for exhibit space, 7.7% for exhibitors and 3.3% for attendance. Te growth of the conference comes at a time when ASSE has been expanding its inter- national profile with new chapters in Mexico and the United Arab Emirates. Visual Stimulation. Attendees at InfoComm reached out and touched the latest in audio-visual gear and innovations. The educational component of the show was particularly strong with hefty increases in enrollment in specialized classes. Farm Show Progressing Te largest show by far in the June Dashboard took place far from Las Vegas and the other top-tier convention cities of North America. Canada's Farm Progress Show brought a fleet of tractors, combines and other space-gobbling agricultural machines to Regina, Saskatchewan for a week-long run. Te exhibit space covered more than 1.2 million nsf, a 1.4% increase over 2011. Te exhibits were housed in mul- tiple buildings and on outdoor space. In fact, more than half of the show was located outdoors, although 75% of the individual exhibitors set up shop inside. Increased education helped drive all three metrics higher at InfoComm. Attendance at the annual "Super Tuesday" feature, which is devoted to advanced training for audio- visual professionals, was up 32.0% and registration for InfoComm University was up 15.6% over last year. Attendance was up 2.2% at 43,947 and the number of exhibitors grew 7.3% to 806. Show Manager Rob McConnell said most of the exhibitors were from outside Saskatchewan, with a large contingent from Europe and China. Gold Performance Te six Gold 100 shows surveyed for the Dashboard reported overall stable results. Increased education helped drive all three metrics higher at InfoComm.
