Te facility, which ranked No. 17 on the list with 722,500 sf, is slated to expand to 800,000 sf of prime exhibit space and 50,000 sf of flex space. In Boston, the Massachusetts Conven- tion Center Authority is eyeing a 5.5-acre site adjacent to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center to be used for hotel construction, which would open the door for an eventual major expansion of the center's exhibit space. At No. 24 on the list of Mega Convention Centers, the venue features 516,000 sf of prime exhibit space. Ten there is the ongoing whale of an expansion planned for Los Angeles. Te ambitious project would knock down and replace part of the Los Angeles Conven- tion Center, which currently has 720,000 sf of prime exhibit space and is 18th on the list of Mega Convention Centers. Plans call for a new exhibit hall and an NFL football stadium capable of hosting exhibit overflow. Te so-called Farmers Field proj- ect has been moving slowly through the approval process this Summer but has not run into any significant snags.
