"Te fashion supply chain has become as important to the (fashion) industry as design has been," said Florio. "Where and how products are made affects jobs and the environment and influences the perception of the brand." Advanstar also extended the show's run this Summer and added a staggered schedule for its component events to give attendees more time to visit the exhibits at both the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Te debut of Pro Pickup Truck Expo widened the show's sweet spot beyond the big rigs that ply the Interstates. y Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. Nielsen Expositions tightened up its registration qualifications in Salt Lake City but still enjoyed a 5.3% increase in attendance and an 8.0% jump in exhibit space, making it the largest show in its history at 492,281 nsf. "Summer Market 2012 was a land- mark event for the industry," said Kenji Haroutunian, show director and vice president at Nielsen Expositions. y ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition reported a slight decline in exhibitors but some nice growth in exhibit space and attendees in Dallas. Te show floor was up 6.5% to 71,600 nsf while atten- dance was up 12.0% and topped 6,000. ASAE President & CEO John Graham said the crowd in the exhibit hall was approximately 60% buyers and 40% vendors. "We had our largest attendance since Chicago and this illustrates the value of face-to-face meetings," said Graham. "It was a fantastic meeting." y International Woodworking Fair (IWF). Te woodworking industry was cer- tainly anxious to see the biennial IWF roll around. Attendance was up 13.8% over 2010 with advance registrations 40% higher than they were two years prior.
